The museum's cupola cafe is widely considered one of the most beautiful cafe settings in the world. We highly recommend booking their 'Gourmet Evening' (Gourmet-Abend) on Thursday nights, which includes a grand buffet dinner in the dome hall and evening museum access.

Why go

Commissioned by Emperor Franz Joseph to house the Habsburgs' formidable art collection, the KHM is a masterpiece of Neo-Renaissance architecture. Inside, you will find works by Raphael, Rembrandt, Vermeer, and the world's largest collection of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. The grand marble staircase features a ceiling fresco painted by Gustav Klimt.
