Upper Belvedere is where you will find Gustav Klimt's famous masterpiece, 'The Kiss'. Walk through the French-style terraced gardens connecting the Upper and Lower palaces for a beautiful view of Vienna's skyline.

Two magnificent Baroque palaces separated by an elegant garden. It houses an exceptional art collection from the Middle Ages to the present day, most notably the world's largest collection of Gustav Klimt paintings.

Good to know

  • Getting there: Take Tram D directly to Schloss Belvedere (stops right in front). Alternatively, take U-Bahn U1 to Hauptbahnhof and walk 10 minutes.
  • Tickets & entry: Upper Belvedere tickets are €23, Lower Belvedere €20. Palace gardens are free to enter. Pre-booking a fixed entry time slot online is highly recommended.
